Laboratory of Acclimatization and Maintenance of Aquatic Organisms

This laboratory has a wet area with environmental temperature control in summer and marine water supply, air and fresh water, independently from other laboratories. It also has a variety of containers with a volume no larger than 70 L, which allows setting a variety of independent experimental designs provided to laboratory users as a service.

Acclimatization Laboratory

In the laboratory, research objectives are proposed and experimental designs are developed, which has allowed the technical staff to gain the experience in providing the following services:

  • Study of developmental biology of marine gastropods, bivalves, and Cnidaria;
  • Effects of temperature, salinity, pH, oxygen concentration, in growth and survival of aquatic organisms;
  • Probiotics assays in water organisms;
  • Diet assays in aquatic organisms;
  • Toxicology assays in aquatic organism.
