Biotherium
- General Information-
The mission of the Biotherium is to cover the researchers' needs in having the facilities, specialized support, and the biological material (animal reagents) for their custody and handling, in the quantity and quality required to validate the results obtained in their scientific research.
The Biotherium is regulated by strict sanitary and genetic control barriers. Likewise a code of ethics for the use of animals in research must be observed by the users. To gain access to this service two things are required: research protocol approval and an application which will be assessed by both the Head of the Biotherium and the internal committee for care and use of laboratory animals (CICUAL); once accepted, the user together with the Head of the Biotherium plan the acquisition, production, funding, lodging, and handling characteristics indicated by the protocol.
