Microbiological Diagnosis Laboratory

- General Information -

The Microbiological Diagnosis Laboratory has as its main objective to support research in different areas, such as: agriculture, aquaculture, tourism (water analysis), and residual water treatment plants. The samples that can be analyzed are very different: sea water, brackish water, well water, organisms in aquaculture, soil, plants, among others.

The Laboratory objectives are:

1. Offer services in areas related to microbiology;
   
2. Offer consultancy in different microbiological techniques to students at bachelor's master's, doctoral levels;
3. Support different research projects referring to microbiological objectives;
   
4. Offer quality services to users in the analysis of fecal coliforms, total coliforms, and presumptive escherichia coli in different types of water – Determining the most probable number (MPN) through accreditation technique requirements;
5. Certify some techniques through Instituto Mexicano de Certificación y Normalización (IMNC) Check service window.
