Welcome to the Histology and Histochemistry Laboratory

Histology is a morphological science that studies and permits observation of tissues, cells, and their substructures.

The services offered by the laboratory are useful in animal and plant tissue studies in different life cycle stages to know their tissue structure at microscopic level, their function, and their relationship with biochemical constituents.

Our services are also useful to establish morphological foundations for histopathological analysis (relationship between abnormal tissues and functional faults).

Laboratory staff performs sections in paraffin wax, resin and freezing for different dyeing techniques.

We also offer technical and training support in section preparation, tissue image analysis with different microscopic techniques, clear field, phase contrast, and fluorescence to internship students and to laboratory users in general.
