Doctor of Science in Use, Management, and Conservation of Natural Resources
Objective | Candidate Profile | Graduate Profile | Study Plan In 1994, Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas del Noroeste, S.C. (CIBNOR) opened the Program of Graduate Studies at doctoral level to contribute to the effort of the Sistema de Centros SEP-CONACyT in preparing high standard human resources in scientific research. The experience acquired by our staff in preparing human resources for research dates back to the foundation of the Center in 1975; since then students from other institutions have asked our researchers to be advisors or tutors in their bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral thesis writing. Objective The Graduate Study Program at doctoral level has the objective of preparing the student to:
Candidate Profile The candidate for the doctoral program shall have obtained the Master of Science degree in a field related to biological sciences or equivalent which should consist o fa minimum of 48 formal credits at graduate level with an examination and a scientific publication. The candidate shall have analytic and creative abilities for presenting, analyzing, and solving scientific doubts and problems related with use, management, and conservation of natural resources; demonstrate special interest and motivation for research and commitment for the environment; have moral and ethical values; have the capacity for reading and writing specialized literature in English.
