Master of Science
in Use, Management, and Conservation of Natural Resources
Since 1988 CIBNOR started its Graduate Study Program at the level of Master of Science, directed to Aquaculture, Biotechnology, Marine Biology, and Dry Land Ecology
Each of these special fields are within the framework of the priority lines of research of the Center.
This new program offers a tutorial education system through core and
optional graduate courses. Currently, the Master of Science degree offers the following
specialties: Aquaculture, Sustainable Agriculture, Marine Biology, Biotechnology or Dry-Land Ecology.
Objective
The Graduate Study Program at the Master's level meets the following objectives:
a. Provide the student with the ideal scientific culture, which entails knowledge on origin, development, and aspects of research methodology, innovation capacity of applicable techniques, and the preparation for multidisciplinary work as a whole;
b. Train the student to solve specific problems in the productive sectors;
c. Aim for a panoramic and extension education,which implies competence in the field in its broadest sense.
Entrance Profile
The candidates for the Master's Program must have completed professional studies in a field related to biological sciences with an average equal to or higher than 8 or its equivalent in a scale from zero to ten; show special interest and motivation for scientific knowledge and a commitment with the environment; have ethical and moral values and the capacity for reading and writing specialized literature in English.
Graduate Profile
The students graduating from this Program shall be qualified to participate in the development
of innovative lines of research and information analysis. Moreover, they shall be capable of adapting and incorporating practice to their
research work advance in the fields of knowledge the Institutional Academic Programs deal with. |
