MAMÍFEROS DE LAS RESERVAS DE EL VALLE DE LOS CIRIOS Y EL VIZCAÍNO
Álvarez-Castañeda, S.T., E. Rios, P. Cortés-Calva, N. González-Ruiz y C.G. Suárez-Gracida
Year Published: 2008
Table of contents
The work is subdivided in two seccions. The first one includes an annotated list of all the species and subspecies of land mammals that take part in its distribution within both Reserves; for example, for each taxon, we provide the localities where they have been registered, their description, differentiation from other species, habitat where they occur, reproduction and conservation aspects, as well as other relevant information. The second part includes an integral information analysis of the species directed to knowing the current situation of the mammals in the Reserves, those species that require an immediate conservation strategy, as well as the identification of the priority habitats for mammals, reflected by a richness of species.

MÉTODOS Y HERRAMIENTAS ANALÍTICAS EN LA EVALUACIÓN DE LA BIOMASA MICROALGAL
Arredondo-Vega, B.O. y D. Voltolina
Year published: 2007
Table of contents
The book “Métodos y herramientas analíticas en la evaluación de la biomasa microalgal” developed as an initiative and interest in sharing our experience gained in the last ten years' work in the analysis of microalgal biomass.
Research on microalga culture has increased in different fields: in aquaculture using live organisms as feed, in biotechnology to obtain metabolites or nutraceutics (EPA, DHA), and as biofuel source. Thinking about the next generations that will continue with our lines of research, we decided to write this book in our language where we included those details of the protocols that are usually not included in publications, such as articles and/or books in English.
The book “Métodos y herramientas analíticas en la evaluación de la biomasa microalgal” is directed to all who work constantly with microalgae and also to those that are planning to explore this field. We hope the information contained in this book is usefull for you, whether you are a student, technician, and/or a researcher.

CURRENT RAPTOR STUDIES IN MÉXICO
Rodríguez-Estrella, R.
Year published: 2006
Table of contents
This book provides a synopsis of existing information on raptor birds in Mexico. Ecological, biological, taxonomic and systematic studies of birds of prey (Falconiforms and Strigiforms) are shown throughout the different chapters of the book. This work also shows an analysis of the habitats and the types of ecosystems where the studies of this birds are currently performed. We have placed special attention in presenting strengths and weaknesses in the knowledge of endemic, rare, and sensitive species, protected by the Mexican law (NOM-059) as well as in stressing the challenges considered important to advance in knowledge and management of this species group. We have also made evident and discussed the lack of studies in the most relevant ecosystems for birds of prey in Mexico. This compilation is the first one in raptors in Mexico with the intention of promoting, stimulating, and motivating the study of this important group of birds considered as markers of habitat quality and functional biological systems.
