The project of organic agriculture started as part of the research projects, because there are farmers in Baja California Sur that are currenly dedicated to produce healthy (organic) food, in other words, food that does not contain residues from agrochemicals that coventional farmers use to nurture plants and for pest control. The interesting part of this type of agriculture  is that it does not contaminate the environment because it uses natural products such as, fertilizers, natural pesticides and repelents like garlic, etc..

Besides, this type of organic products are very well paid abroad, which is why profits for agriculturers are high.

For this reason the project aims (this 2008) to know how mony, who, how, and what food  is sown  organically in B.C.S. through survesy made personally to producers, entrerprisers, and officers that have to deal with organic agriculture. All thie information from the interviews are captured and  the results obtained are analyzed.

Specially, we hope it helps producers, officers, and business persons for decision making that will allow this type of agriculture to grow.
